Description
I've set myself a challenge to redesign the DC characters. I mostly read Marvel so forgive any ignorance regarding the characters
I'm just going to spit these out in a random fashion even though hoping to do at least an A to Z. Which ever character I'm inspired to do will pop up next
Aquaman redesigned/modernised
I don't think he was changed enough for the reboot so here's my take. I don't know much about him except for what I've seen in the various animated series and what I've read in passing but I love the Brave and the Bold version
My thoughts behind this are as follows:
Short sleeves and bare feet to expose him to his natural element, the long sleeves and boots don't seem to fit in my opinion.
The collar on the shirt was meant to give him a more regal appearance.
I changed the shape and size of the scales to try and give him a more streamlined look, because fish scales shouldn't be so prominent - they should only show from certain angles. The belt was going to be black but I chose gold to emphasize his nobility.
Physically I wanted him to look like a swimmer, so I made him lean and tall.
The belt is also designed to try and give off a speedo look as-well (don't know if it worked though).
Regarding the trident I figured the massive gold one would be ceremonial and instead he would carry around one with an extend-able handle and blades that retract to form a spear and allow it to be sheathed.

I love the overall look you gave him. Making him go around barefoot and short sleeves makes him look really like a swimmer and that he belongs to water. And it's true that the collar gives him a more regal appearance
